Click here to read an article on ABC 7's website about the high numbers of animals being turned over to animal shelters due to the "overwhelming housing foreclosure rate". Looks like my theory wasn't to off base like the spokesman for the Riverside County Department of Animal Services made it out be in the Press Enterprise article about my rescue horses! The economic problems we are facing are all intertwined! High gas prices, high hay prices, high foreclosure rate, everything has gone up in price...they all go hand in hand right now!
